The 96.5mm x 46.5mm x 16.4mm body handset offers a large 2.2-inch display (QVGA LCD 16.7 million colour screen 240 x 320 pixels) yet its 123g weight is surprisingly light to the touch.
Turning to the camera an auto focus feature enables a clear shot while the double LED flash ensures the correct lighting for each photo. Integral Adobe PhotoShop software allows you to amend photos and add finishing touches on the spot. When the camera feature is used in horizontal mode you can use the capture key and zoom keys just like any standard digital camera. You can then share and print photos using the FlickrT feature enabling you to connect directly to the FlickrT Website (to share photos with friends and family). You can print photos easily using the PictBridgeT feature.
Video recording comprises a 4 x zoom recording footage in VGA MPEG4 & QCIF formats. The VGA recording can recording footage at 15 frames per second and the QCIF can capture 30 frames per second. The Slide plays video footage recorded by you or streamed or sent from other video-capable phone users via the messaging service.
The a second camera is used during two-way 3G video calls via the large screen. A TV out feature allows you to enjoy still images in VGA and video in QVGA at 15 frames per second during TV conferencing and TV video calling.
The 6500 Slide offers 20 MB internal memory and also a 256 KB bunded card but expandable memory slot can take cards up to 4 GB card. .
As quad-band phone (GSM 850 900 1800 1900 with WCDMA 850 and 2100) the Slide offers global roaming. For short distance connectivity you can connect via the micro USB connector a 2.5mm AV connector for connecting a compatible headset or TV out or wirelessly via BluetoothT to compatible device (PC laptops PDA headset or printer). The Slide also supports EDGE technology and 3G for fast data transfer.
There is an integrated FM radio (with on-screen interaction) MP3/MP4 music mobile internet via the Opera mini browser and SMS/MMS messaging.
Battery life is rated at six hours of talk time and 320 hours on standby from a full charge.
